Sussex, New Brunswick is the Mural Capital of Atlantic Canada and The Sussex Downtown Business Association is proud to be a supporter of the Sussex Mural Project.
We invite you to tour our “outdoor art gallery” and enjoy the celebration of our past.
When you visit Sussex you’ll find our murals to be a visual treat. The downtown Sussex area features 22 of the 26 murals all within easy walking distance. These murals were painted by world renowned artists on the sides of our downtown buildings. It is a pictorial history of our heritage and past.
Walking guides are available from many merchants in downtown Sussex. An oval in the lower right hand corner of each mural shows the mural number.

The Sussex Murals are made possible through the King’s East Development Partnership Inc. a non-profit organization that fosters economic development in the Sussex area. Its members include the Town of Sussex, the Village of Sussex Corner, the Local Service Districts, the Sussex and District Chamber of Commerce, the Downtown Business Association, the King’s County Tourism Association and Enterprise Fundy.
“Murals bring a creative dimension into day-to-day life, and reach far beyond the scope of galleries and museums, which cater only to a minority. They can enhance otherwise ordinary architecture and bring a new dimension to a whole area.”
